How is it necessary to make niyyah when the morning prayer (whose time has ended) is performed as qada before noon?
Dear Brother / Sister,
The time for the morning (fajr) prayer starts with imsak (dawn) and ends when the sun rises. However, according to Hanafis, it is more virtuous to delay it to the time when it becomes a bit bright; according to Shafiis, it is more virtuous to perform it when it is dark at the beginning of its time.
If the sun rises while performing the prayer and before the prayer is over, the prayer is invalidated according to Hanafis; it becomes necessary to perform it again when the time of karahah ends.
If a person who cannot perform the morning prayer on time performs it after the sun rises, after the time for karahah ends and before the karahah time before the noon prayer starts, he performs both the sunnah and fard prayer of it.
When the morning prayer is performed as qada before noon, it is regarded to have been performed as qada in time. When he performs the sunnah as qada, he says, "I intend to perform the sunnah of the morning prayer as qada for Allah's sake." When he performs the fard as qada, he says, "I intend to perform the fard of the morning prayer as qada for Allah's sake."
