I sometimes see my image on the window when I perform a prayer. Is a prayer performed like that permissible?
Dear Brother / Sister,
There are some deeds that are makruh to do in prayer; they do not invalidate prayer but they overshadow the spiritual pleasures, which are regarded as the spirit of prayer. Therefore, it is necessary to be careful about them.
There are many makruh deeds in prayer. They can be learned in detail from fiqh books. However, it is not possible to see all makruh deeds in all books. The issue asked in the question is one of them.
There is a general rule about the issue. The things that harm awe in prayer, that is, the deeds that distract one’s attention and that prevent him from concentrating in prayer are regarded makruh.
If some things like a mirror, glass case, etc. opposite a person who performs a prayer in a place other than a mosque distract his attention, keep him busy and hence harm awe in prayer, they are also regarded makruh. However, if a mirror, glass case, etc. opposite a person who performs a prayer does not distract his attention, it is not regarded makruh.
When the image of your body seen on the window glass catches your eye, it does not harm your prayer.
