Did Hz. Adam and Hz. Hawwa (Eve) have navels? If not, is it an evidence for evolution?
- Some atheists want to raise doubts in Muslims about whether Hz. Adam and Hz. Hawwa (Eve) had navels or not.
- "If they had, how could a navel occur without being born of a mother? If not, it proves that man occurred as a result of evolution." How should we answer such claims?
Dear Brother / Sister,
Since it is not possible to show the existence or non-existence of the umbilical cord in the first human beings, an interpretation can be made only according to some causes and the wisdom in creation.
As it is known, a person is fed through the umbilical cord in the mother’s womb. Since he is fed orally when he comes to the world, this opening in the navel closes in time and only a certain trace remains. Since there was no feeding from the mother in the creation of the first man, the umbilical cord should not exist. God Almighty gives man’s sustenance without the umbilical cord too. Allah, who feeds and develops the chick in the egg without an umbilical cord, definitely fed and developed the first man and our father Hz. Adam, and Hz. Hawwa our mother.
Atheists try to mislead people by demagogy and wordplay here. Man develops from a cell and differentiates, assuming a human form, whether he has an umbilical cord or not. What is more, thousands of cells of each person are changed and renewed every moment. The person one second later is not the same person as one second before. We call these changes and differentiations evolution in the sense of perfection; that is, attaining perfection by developing and differentiating. This kind of development is a law. This law is valid for all beings in the living and non-living universe. If they call this evolution, they must express their claim that a living being comes into being by chance from another living being by using another word. They call both of them evolution through demagogy. However, changes in the sense of differentiation and perfection are a law.
The change and differentiation that they claim to have occurred in the sense of evolution is not based on facts. It is a hypothetical and philosophical thought.
