Why did Allah create the species that He would eliminate?
- Allah can create everything by saying, “be", and it is; why did it take billions of years for the world to be created and to be made ready for human beings to live?
- The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), who was sent as mercy for realms, came to the world only 1.400 years ago.

Dear Brother / Sister,
Everything was planned like that based on the infinite wisdom of Allah.
"This small mind cannot grasp those high realities,
For, this scale does not weigh such a big weight."
However, this world was created, designed and arranged based on wisdom. Wisdom works by taking into consideration the fine relationships in the network of causes that exist in everything. Therefore, The Sublime Creator based His deeds on this line of wisdom though He has the command “be”. Allah’s will and power virtually remained in the area drawn by the compasses of wisdom and knitted the embroideries of the universe within the hoop prescribed by wisdom.
The following verses of the Quran state that things were created all of a sudden:
“And your creation or your resurrection is in no wise but as an individual soul: for Allah is He Who hears and sees (all things).” (Luqman, 31/28),
“Verily, when He intends a thing, His Command is, "be", and it is!" (Yasin, 36/82)
On the other hand, the following verses state that the universe was built based on precise and fine calculations and that a method of gradualism was used:
“Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days.” (al-A'raf, 7/54),
“(such is) the artistry of Allah, who disposes of all things in perfect order.” (an-Naml, 27/88),
“He Who has made everything which He has created most good” (as-Sajda, 32/7)
We can summarize the views of Badiuzzaman Said Nursi that shed light on the issue as follows:
"Some of the things in the universe were created with infinite knowledge and wisdom with the principle of gradualism and a fine art. The first creation of things is like that too. The other things are created instantaneously and merely through a command."
"The repetition of creation of things are like that too. Accordingly, some verses in question declare the superior wisdom and fine art in beings in their first creation. The others express the ease and speed in the repetition of creation."
"Thus, there is no contradiction between verses."
"However, since this world is ‘the realm of wisdom’ and the hereafter ‘the realm of power’, numerous divine names like Hakim (All-Wise), Murattib (Arranger), Mudabbir (Disposer), and Murabbi (Nurturer) require that the creation of things in this world is gradual and in the course of time. Verses like 'Your Guardian-Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority)' indicate this wise creation."
"In resurrection, however, power and mercy will be manifested more than wisdom, and there being no need for matter, time, and waiting, things will be made instantaneously.” (see Niyazi Beki, Kur’an’ın Büyük ve Parlak Bir Tefsiri Risale-i Nur)
