The Details of the Question

Special significance has been assigned to reading certain Surahs or Verses from Quran. For example reading Surah Al Kahf on Fridays or Ayatul Kursiy after namaz or before going to sleep every day brings Allah's special favours. Is there any such importance in the case of Surah Al Mulk?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

First of all, the whole Quran is cure and healing for all troubles and hearts.

There are big rewards for reading the chapters of Yasin, al-Fath, ar-Rahman, al-Mulk, an-Naba during the day or night. They have the properties of protecting people from various troubles.

It is very virtuous to read the chapter of al-Mulk at night. The following is stated in a hadith:

"There is a chapter of thirty verses in the Quran; it continues interceding for the reader until he is forgiven. This chapter is al-Mulk." (Abu Davud, Salat, 327)

The prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said the following about the virtue of surah al-Mulk. "Verily, there is a chapter in the Qur’an which contains thirty verses that will intercede on behalf of its reciter until he is forgiven. It is the surah of "Tabaraka". (al-Mulk) (Tirmidhi, Fadailil Qur'an, Abu Davud, Salat, 322; Ibn Majah, Adab, 52).

In another hadith which was reported by Jabir (R.A): "The prophet Muhammad (PBUH) didn't use to sleep without reciting the surahs of Sajda and Tabaraka (Mulk)" (Tirmidhi, Fadail'ul-Qur'an,9)
