Is there a hadith with the following meaning: "Do not forget! You will be harmed as much as you harm and you will be distressed as much as you distress others."?
Dear Brother / Sister,
We have not found the statement above in hadith resources. However, there is a hadith narration with somewhat similar meaning:
“A good deed will not be lost; sins will not be forgiven. Allah is everlasting. In that case, do whatever you wish. You will be treated in the way that you live.” (Kanzul-Ummal, H. No:43672)
It is understood from the last sentence “You will be treated in the way that you live” that a person who does a good deed will be rewarded and he who does a bad deed will be punished.
According to the criterion of justice, everything – whether it is good or bad – will be returned in the same way. So, it means “You will be harmed as much as you harm and you will be distressed as much as you distress others.” The following can also be said, “You will be happy as much as you make others happy and you will be relieved as much as you relieve others.”
“But those who have earned evil will have a reward of like evil...” (Yunus, 10/27)
This fact is indicated in the verse above too.
