Is the statement “The Prophet had the sexual strength of thirty men” true?
Dear Brother / Sister,
Since this hadith is included in Bukhari, it is accepted as sound in principle. It is the view of scholars.
This issue may have been mentioned in the context of the verses stating that the Prophet (pbuh) could marry as many times as he wanted, unlike other Muslims. That is, acting upon assumptions such as “I wonder if he can have thirty ladies? If he did, would he be strong enough?” the Companions evaluated the issue among themselves in a framework that “befit the high rank of prophethood”.
As a matter of fact, in the relevant hadith of Bukhari (Ghusl, 12), this information is not something reported from the Prophet (pbuh) but as it is understood from the statement of Anas (r.a.) “We used to talk among ourselves like that”, it is based on a guess that the Companions made among themselves.
This issue is of no practical use to Muslims. It has nothing to do with the duty of prophethood duties either. Therefore, instead of it, we need to learn about the high ethics that took the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to that high and unique position of Ascension (Miraj).
