The Details of the Question
I am a university student. I hired a house with my friends. We do not have any copies of the Quran at home. I am thinking of bringing one from my home but I do not know how to bring it on the bus. I cannot put it among luggage. It will be harmed on the rack. I cannot hold it on my lap during the journey. What can I do? Submitted by on Tue, 05/04/2016 - 19:25
The Answer
Dear Brother / Sister,
It is permissible to put the Quran in a bag and to put the bag among luggage.
If there are copies of the Quran and religious books among the luggage and if a person sits or lies on the luggage in order to protect it, it is not a sin. However, it is makruh to sit if he has no intention of protecting it. (see Celal YILDIRIM, İslam Fıkhı)
