issues on financial debt

The Details of the Question
I have some debts that was created when my family underwent a "bad situation".
I am still paying off this debt.......BUT, I am also helping out some old- aged relatives with sadqa (on their birthdays and Eids)or whenever they ask.
What I would like to know is which is the priority that I should be looking at? Paying off my debts and not helping relatives or still paying debts slowly and supporting them?
JazakaAllah for your answer. The Answer
Dear Brother / Sister,
If your helping (alms/sadaqa) does not pose an obstacle for paying off your dept, then there is no harm. If you are paying off your dept by installments then you can still continue to give money to your old aged relatives. However you should give priority to your payee.
