Can a woman whose time for menstruation has come perform prayers with a sign of bleeding before it starts to bleed fully?
Dear Brother / Sister,
She cannot perform prayers after blood comes out even if it is slight.
How is it understood when a woman starts to menstruate? Does the blood that come out have to flow?
When cotton or something similar placed in the womb is taken out has a trace of blood on it, it is decreed that menstruation has started. The starting time for the menstruation is regarded as the time when the cotton is removed. If there is no trace of blood when the cotton is removed, the menstruation period of the woman who has been menstruating is regarded to have ended. (Sharh al-Wiqaya, Fatawa al-Hindiyya)
The blood that comes out does not have to flow. (al-Khulasa, Fatawa al-Hindiyya)
