Can a man lay a condition in the marriage contract in Islam?

The Details of the Question
- I have been told that in Islam a woman is allowed to put conditions in a marriage contract before the marriage takes place, but of course the man can refuse the contract and move on.
- Can the man put the conditions in the contract himself, such as not meeting the needs of his wife or not paying mahr after marriage?

Dear Brother / Sister,
No condition that is contrary to the nature and legal consequences of the contract or that binds the formation of the contract to itself can be added to it.
Binding contracts can be made in the free area.
