What are the boundaries of the face in wudu according to Shafii madhhab?
Dear Brother / Sister,
It is one of the fards of wudu to wash the whole face once.
The vertical boundaries of the face are the hairline on the forehead and the bottom of the chin. The horizontal boundaries are the two ears.
The outside parts of the lips, eyebrows, eyelashes and temples, the hair under the lower lip, the hair on the cheeks and mustache are parts of the face; therefore, they have to be washed. It is not necessary to wash the inside of the eyes. However, it is necessary to wash the part of the eyes close to the nose.
It is necessary to wash the inner and outer part of thin beard. If the skin under the hair is not seen, it is called dense hair. It is necessary to wash only the outer part of dense hair. According to the reliable view, it is fard to wash the long beard that hangs down out of the circle of the face.
