Will we go after the people we love? Will we live like the ones we love after death?
- Our teacher say we will go to Paradise or Hell after the people we love. For instance, we love our mother and we can be rewarded with Paradise after her. Or, if we love a singer and his/her music, we can be people of Hell like him/her. He says we can listen to his/her music but not love him/her. Is it true?
Dear Brother / Sister,
What is meant by it is as follows: If a person accepts a person he loves as a model and lives like him, the place he will go will the same place as the person he loves.
The Prophet (pbuh) states the following regarding the issue: "A person will be with those whom he loves." (Bukhari, Adab: 96; Muslim, Birr: 165)
We should love all believers anyway. However, we should love the attributes that fit a believer; we should not love the attributes that do not fit a believer.
You can love your mother because she is a believer but you cannot love her backbiting when she backbites.
If you love the sins of a sinful believer and commit sins like him, you will be together with him in the hereafter.
