- Is the statement above a hadith?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

Yes, the hadith in question is as follows::

"Allah writes as many thawabs as a qirat for a person who utters salawat for me. A qirat is like the Mount Uhud." (Faydul-Qadir, 6/170, Hadith No: 8813)

There are also other narrations for the virtue of uttering salawat for the Prophet (pbuh). Some of them are as follows:

"When you hear adhan, repeat what the muezzin says; then invoke a blessing on me because everyone who invokes a blessing on me will receive ten blessings from Allah; then beg from Allah al-wasila for me, which is a rank in Paradise fitting for only one of Allah's servants, and I hope that I may be that one. If anyone who asks that I be given the wasila, he will be assured of my intercession." (Muslim, Salah 11; Abu Dawud, Salah 36)

"Jibril came to me and gave me the following glad tiding from Allah: If a person sends one blessing to Me, I will send ten blessings to him. If a person greets you, I will greet him.” (Ibn Kathir, Tafsir, al-Ahzab 56)

"If two people who love each other utter salawat for the Messenger of Allah when they meet, they will be forgiven before they leave." (Mundhiri, at-Targhib wat-Tarhib, 2/504)

"When one of you wants to ask something from Allah, he should praise Allah first. Then, he should send blessings and greetings to me. Then, he should ask from Allah. That is more likely to be accepted." (Qadi Iyad, ash-Shifa, 2/151)

"There is a veil between every supplication (dua) and the sky. When salawat is uttered for the Messenger of Allah, that supplication is elevated (accepted)." (Tirmidhi, Salah 352)
