Can soldiers make wudu by wiping (masah) over their boots and perform prayers?

The Details of the Question

1) Can a soldier perform prayers in boots? Can he use his boots like khuffs while making wudu?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

A soldier can perform prayers in his boots if his boots are clean.

It is permissible to wipe over shoes that have the necessary conditions for khuffs. When the shoe are taken off, masah is invalidated. It is possible to make wudu and wipe over the shoes then.

It is permissible to wipe over boots and shoes similar to boots that are worn over khuffs after khuffs are worn, before khuffs are not wiped and worn before wudu is invalidated. If boots are worn after wudu is invalidated, it is not permissible to wipe over them.

It is not permissible to wipe over gloves, veil, hat, cap and turban. (as-Sarakhsi, I / 101-103; al-Qasani, I /10-11; Mulla Khusraw, I / 36; al-Fatawal-Hindiyya, I / 32)
