Will our organs, animals, plants and other beings sue against us in the Gathering Place in the hereafter?
Dear Brother / Sister,
There is no doubt that divine judgment will be made between those who oppress and those who are oppressed in the greatest court in the Gathering Place where Allah’s infinite justice will be manifest. A person will sue against another person and even the living beings that are wronged will sue against people. As a matter of fact, the following is stated in a hadith:
“A woman who kep a cat angry and caused its death went to Hell.” (Bukhari, Anbiya, 50)
We have not come across any information about plants to complain about people. However, we learn from the verse below and similar ones that man will be called to account for all kinds of boons:
“Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!).” (at-Takathur, 102/8)
We learn from the verses below that our organs will sue and witness against us from the following verses:
“On the Day when their tongues, their hands, and their feet will bear witness against them as to their actions.” (an-Nur, 24/24).
“That Day shall We set a seal on their mouths. But their hands will speak to us, and their feet bear witness, to all that they did.” (Yasin, 36/65).
“On the Day that the enemies of Allah will be gathered together to the Fire, they will be marched in ranks. At length, when they reach the (Fire), their hearing, their sight, and their skins will bear witness against them, as to (all) their deeds. They will say to their skins: ‘Why bear ye witness against us?’ They will say: ‘Allah hath given us speech,- (He) Who giveth speech to everything: He created you for the first time, and unto Him were ye to return. Ye did not seek to hide yourselves, lest your hearing, your sight, and your skins should bear witness against you! But ye did think that Allah knew not many of the things that ye used to do!’” (Fussilat, 41/19-22)
Accordingly, man will be shown whatever he did. He will be questioned or rewarded for them:
"On that Day will men proceed in companies sorted out, to be shown the deeds that they (had done). Then shall anyone who has done an atom´s weight of good, see it! And anyone who has done an atom´s weight of evil, shall see it." (az-Zilzal, 99/6-8)
Zarra (atom’s weight) means invisibly tiny ant or particle that can be perceived in sunlight.
What is meant by it is to inform man about his responsibility related to the smallest thing that he can perceive through his senses. The real purpose is to state that even the smallest good deed and bad deed will not be lost.
