- What is the evidence and source showing that it is mustahab to say, “Sami’na wa ata’na ghufranaka Rabbana wa ilaykal-masir” after performing prostration of recitation?
Dear Brother / Sister,
Some fiqh books include the following information: It is mustahab to read the following verse after performing prostration of recitation:
“Sami’na wa ata’na ghufranaka Rabbana wa ilaykal-masir.”
“We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys!” (al-Baqara 2/285)
However, we could not find any narration about the recitation of this prayer after prostration of recitation.
Nevertheless, the recitation of this prayer after prostration of recitation may be an interpretation deduced from the meaning of the verse.
