What is haram to hear / listen to?

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, What is impermissible to hear/listen to? For example, if one lies when joking (irony) which is haram, is it halal to listen to what they say (for example in a video) ? Similarly for swear words. Jazakallahu khairan

Dear Brother / Sister,

Since hearing and listening have different meanings, they are subject to different decrees. It is not haram to hear something involuntarily. However, a person is held responsible for what he listens to.

If the things that a person listens willingly and knowingly are contrary to the Islamic faith, Islamic decrees and Islamic ethics, he will be held responsible according to the degree of the sin.
