If the time prayer for the next prayer starts while an excused person is performing a prayer, are his wudu and prayer invalidated?
Dear Brother / Sister,
An excused person has to make wudu for each prayer time. According to the view preferred in Hanafi madhhab, the wudu of an excused person is invalidated when the time period for a prayer ends.
According to Maliki madhhab, the wudu of an excused person is not invalidated when the time period for a prayer starts or ends; it is invalidated when something else that breaks wudu happens. (Ibn Rushd, Bidayatul-Mujtahid, l, 47)
Those who are excused can act based on Maliki madhhab due to an obligation.
A person who makes wudu and performs his prayer at the end of the time period for prayer due to his excuse can act based on Maliki madhhab when the time period ends at the end of the prayer and complete his prayer like that. He does not have to perform that prayer again as qada.
