How does a Muslim who has not prayed (said duas) for years meet his daily needs?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

Prayer (dua) is made not only with the tongue but also with deeds.

Therefore, a person who acts in accordance with the laws Allah imposed on the universe is regarded to have prayed actually.

Thus, Muslims meet their needs not only through the prayers they say with the tongue but also by working duly and doing the deeds that will obtain results based on their free will.

Allah Almighty states the following in His book: “Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer).” (Ghafir, 40/60) “That man can have nothing but what he strives for. That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight.” (an-Najm, 53/39, 40)

In that case, if we understand and apply those two statements as a whole, we get the following result:

A slave meets his needs by working; meanwhile, he prays to his Lord so that his work will be successful, the obstacles will disappear, and he will not get into trouble.

Praying is a special and important deed of worship apart from the result. One of the most important times when a slave is closest to his Lord is when he prays. A slave who consciously presents his heart to his Lord by expressing his needs as much as he can is regarded to be doing one of the pure deeds of worship.

It is definitely acceptable to use the supplications conveyed from Allah and His Messenger in prayer by being aware of the meanings of them.

As for the result of the prayer, it will definitely take place either in this world or in the eternal realm.
