Dear Brother / Sister,
Tarawih prayer can be performed individually. According to the soundest view, it is sunnah al-kifayah to perform tarawih prayer in congregation. That is, if nobody performs tarawih prayer in congregation in a mosque, all of the people there become sinners.
Tarawih prayer can be performed individually. However, it is more virtuous to perform it in congregation.
A person who catches up with the congregation in the middle of tarawih prayer has to perform the fard of the night (isha) prayer first; after that, he can follow the imam for tarawih prayer. He completes the rak'ahs that he has missed individually afterwards.
It is sunnah to perform tarawih prayer with khatm al-Quran.
