Can a husband and wife perform prayers next to each other?

The Answer
Dear Brother / Sister,
A husband and wife cannot perform a congregational prayer next to each other.
Muhadhat (being adjacent) occurs when a man and a woman next to him perform the same prayer in congregation. If a woman and a man perform the same prayer next to each other and if one of them performs it alone but the other in congregation, their prayers are valid since the prayers are not common (shared) in terms of performing.
