Why is the name of Allah different in other heavenly religions?

The Details of the Question

- The name of God is Allah in Islam and Jehovah in Judaism. Was it different originally?

- Why is the name of Allah not the same in both heavenly religions?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

The heavenly religions were sent down with different languages.

This fact is emphasized in the following verse of the Quran:

“We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them.” (Ibrahim, 14/4)

Since it is necessary to send down revelation in different languages, it is a necessity of wisdom that the names and attributes of Allah used for the purpose of introducing Allah to the addressees to be in the language that the addressees can understand.

However, we should emphasize that in no religion are so many different names and attributes of Allah mentioned as much as they are mentioned in the Quran. It is a natural and wise result of the wide scope of the Quran's domination until Doomsday, its broad scope originating from being the last religion, its broad perspective stemming from including the basic principles of all previous heavenly religions, and its broad vision arising from the level of knowledge, wisdom and manners of its addressees.

Due to all these broad missions and visions, the content of the words used for the names and attributes of Allah in the Quran / Islam has a very large treasure of meanings.
