Is it permissible to accept the invitation and to go to the places where haram deeds are committed (like a wedding reception where alcoholic drinks are served)?

Dear Brother / Sister,

If a person who is invited to a wedding dinner sees that some sins like drinking alcohol are committed there, if people drink at the table that he sits, it is a sin for him to stay at that table if he is a scholar or a righteous person that will set an example for the Muslims.

If there is no alcoholic drink at the table he sits and if he is not regarded as an example by the Muslims he can stay there. (1)

According to the Shafii madhhab, it is not permissible for any Muslims to stay there if something illegitimate is committed there. (2)

If there are no illegitimate deeds at the wedding dinner, it is sunnah to accept the invitation according to the Hanafi madhhab (3) and wajib according to the Shafii madhhab if one has no excuse. (4)
