Will you give information about the prayers to be said when one gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

When the Prophet (pbuh) went to bed, he would lie on his right side, put the palm of his right hand under his right cheek and say the following prayer:

"Allahumma inni aslamtu nafsi ilayk wa wajjahtu wajhi ilayk wa fawwadtu amri ilayk, wa alja'tu zahri ilayk, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilayk. La maljaa wala manjaa minka illa ilayk. Amantu bi kitabikalladhi anzalta wa rasulikalladhi arsalta."

"O Allah! I have submitted myself to You, I have turned my face to You, committed my affairs to You, and depend on You for protection out of desire for You and out of fear of You (expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment). There is no refuge and no place of safety from You but with You. I believed in the Book You have revealed, and in the Prophet You have sent."

"If you die on the night you read this, you will have died following the fitrah (sound nature of man). If you reach the morning, you will attain goodness." ( From Hz. Bara - Bukhari, Daawat 7, 9; Tawhid 34; Muslim, Dhikr 56; Tirmidhi, Daawat 76; Abu Dawud, Adab 107)

A person who wants to sleep should make wudu, lie on his right side and say this prayer; it should be the last prayer he says. If a person who says this prayer dies on that night, he will die as a Muslim and enter Paradise inshallah.

The Prophet (pbuh) would say the following prayer when he woke up in the morning:

"Alhamdulillahilladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin nushur."

"Praise be to Allah, who revived us after killing us. We will return to him in the end."(From Hz. Hudhayfa Ibnul Yaman - Bukhari, Daawat 7, 8, 16, Tawhid 13; Tirmidhi, Daawat 29, Abu Dawud, Adab 177)

Sleep is the younger brother of death. We fall asleep as if we die and wake up in the morning as if we are resurrected in the hereafter. In fact, sleeping every night and waking up every morning represent death and resurrection. We should sleep with this understanding and have this understanding when we wake up.
