Is it a sin to carry people to a pub or brothel?

The Details of the Question

- Sometimes the customer in my taxi goes to places where prostitution is performed, and sometimes to places where alcoholic drinks are consumed. Although I try not to take customers to such places, it sometimes happens.
- Although the place is illegitimate, taking a person from point A to point B is legitimate. After getting off, the customer has nothing to do with the taxi.
- It is not appropriate to take customers to such places but is the money received from it halal?
- Is there a difference between a brothel and a pub?
- Sometimes a drunkard gets in the taxi; is it a sin to take him to his home?
- Is the money earned in such cases halal?
- I do it in Germany, where people of the book live.

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

Transporting people to such a place does not mean a contributing to a haram deed. If the person who goes there does not want to commit adultery and to drink alcohol, he will not do so. Therefore, the responsibility belongs to that person, not to the driver.

Neither case makes your earnings haram.

You may have a duty to prevent people from sins and bad deeds; doing it depends on the circumstances and possible outcomes.
