Is it appropriate to associate the information that ‘people will be resurrected in groups’ with tariqahs?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

"On that Day will men proceed in companies sorted out, to be shown the Deeds that they (had done).." (az-Zilzal, 99/6)

People will appear in groups (companies) on that day. The word sudur (yasduru) used in the verse is the opposite of wurud. Wurud means to go to water and sudur means to return from water. In other words, “warid” means the one that comes and “sadir” means the one that goes. That is, they will come from the place that they went to; they will come out of their graves to the Gathering Place in different forms. Some of them will come with bright faces (with honor) while others will come with black faces (with disgrace); some in salvation, some in fear and horror, some riding something and some on foot, some free and some in chains, to sum up, some happily and some unhappily. Or as it is narrated from Ibn Abbas

"One day We shall call together all human beings with their (respective) Imams" (al-Isra, 17/71)

and in accordance with the verse above, members of every religion and nation will come behind their leaders;

"Now have ye come to Us (bare) as We created you first" (al-Kahf, 18/48),

or as it is stated in the verse above, every individual will come alone as he was created, or according to the view of some other scholars, they will appear scattered to various regions. Or, after coming to the Gathering Place, some of them will leave the Gathering Place by taking their books from the right side and head for Paradise while others will leave the Gathering Place by taking their books from the left side and head for Hell.
