Does a woman also have a wet dream? Does sperm come out of a woman?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

Both men and women have wet dreams. If sperm comes out, ghusl becomes necessary. This state is natural for both men and women. However, this state is seen rarely in women. According to Imam Muhammad, if a woman has a wet dream but does not see sperm come out, it is better for her to make ghusl as a caution. For, it is possible for the sperm that comes out to go in again.

"Hz. Umm Salama, one of the wives of the Prophet (pbuh), went to the Prophet with a woman called Umm Sulaym. Umm Sulaym asked,

- O Messenger of Allah! Is it necessary for a woman to make ghusl if she sees in her dream that her husband has had a sexual intercourse with her?

Thereupon, Umm Salama said to Umm Sulaym,

- O Umm Sulaym! You have dropped a brick. You have disgraced women in the presence of the Messenger of Allah.

Umm Sulaym said to her,

- God Almighty does not order us to feel ashamed because of learning the truth. It is better for us to ask the Prophet about what we do not know than not to know it.

Thereupon, the Prophet (pbuh) said,

- O Umm Sulaym! You are wrong. If a woman has a wet dream, she has to make ghusl." (see Abu Dawud, Taharah 95 ; Tirmidhi Taharah 82)

(Orgasm): At the end of the tension, the woman feels that the tension that she cannot control and she does not want to control transcends her. It is generally perceived as follows: In the part of the vagina called orgasm manchette, deep in the pelvic cavity, orgasm becomes apparent with contractions that follow one another. It is as if there is a fit of convulsion. In a medium level orgasm, a woman feels 3 to 5 contractions and in a strong one, about 8 to 12 contractions. All of her muscles, especially the muscles in the abdominal region are contracted. Strong contractions occur in the muscles around her bottom.

To have an orgasm is also called “to come”. It is like to ejaculate for men. However, it is not possible for every man and woman to have orgasm at the same time in every intercourse.

After the woman “comes”, a liquid (sperm) comes from the woman. This is between  0.2 and 50 ml. However, many women are not aware of it. (see Dr. Margaret Turner, Cinsel Konularda Herkesin Bilmesi Gerekenler, Nil Y. Ank. p. 63, ff)
