Does ghusl become necessary if I see wetness when I wake up? Am I regarded as junub if I do not remember having a wet dream?
When I woke up, I saw that there was some wetness on the paper I had put on the front part. It may be sperm because it was a lot but I am not sure. I think it is probably madi. However, so much madi had never come out during sleep before. I do not remember having a wet dream. There is very little time for the time period of the morning prayer to end. That is, if I make ghusl, I will miss the prayer. What should I do in that case?
Dear Brother / Sister,
When a person who wakes up sees wetness on his bed, underwear or body, he needs to pay attention to the following issues:
If he remembers having a sexual intercourse in his dream, he has to make ghusl. It does not matter whether he doubts the wetness is sperm or not. However, if he does not remember having a wet dream, he does not have to think about the nature of the wetness and ghusl is not necessary. For, it is not known whether the leakage came out with lust or not. This is the view of Imam Ab Yusuf. According to Abu Hanifa and Imam Muhammad, if a person understands that the leakage is madi, he does not have to make ghusl. However, if he knows that it is sperm or if he has doubts, he needs to make ghusl. This is more appropriate in terms of caution. Therefore, fatwa is based on this view.
If a person who gets up from bed remembers having a wet dream and sees wetness on his penis, he has to make ghusl. When a person who sleeps standing or sitting wakes up and sees wetness on his penis, he needs to make ghusl if he thinks this wetness is sperm or if this organ was still before he slept. However, if he does not have such a thought and if his penis was alert before, he does not have to make ghusl. This wetness is regarded as madi. For, when the organ is alert, it causes madi to come out.
You can decide based on the explanations above and act accordingly.
As for the morning prayer (fajr):
The time period for the morning prayer starts with imsak (dawn) and ends when the sun rises. However, according to Hanafis, it is more virtuous to delay it to the time when it becomes slightly bright but according to Shafiis, it is more virtuous to perform it when it is still dark.
If the sun rises while a person is performing the morning prayer and before he finishes it, the prayer is invalidated according to Hanafis; it is necessary to perform it again after the time period for karahah ends.
A person who cannot perform the morning prayer in time performs both the Sunnah and fard of it together as qada (missed) prayer if he performs it before the noon prayer and after the sun rises and karahah time ends.
If a person who becomes junub cannot perform the morning prayer on time, he performs it as qada (missed) prayer after making ghusl and after the karahah time ends.
