Is it permissible to have a tooth filled while a person is in menstruation, puerperum or is junub for other reasons?

The Details of the Question

It is stated that having a tooth filled due to a necessity does not prevent ghusl? Does the decree change if the person who is having ghusl is junub, that is, who has to make ghusl?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

It is not necessary to make ghusl before having a tooth filled. When a person who has had a tooth filled becomes junub, he/she does not have to wash under his teeth; similarly, a person who wants to have a tooth filled does not have to make ghusl.

There are two cases here:

1. Can a person who is junub, that is, who has to make ghusl, have a tooth filled before making ghusl?

It is not appropriate for a person to remain junub except for menstruation and puerperum so long as to pass a time period for a prayer. Therefore, it is not haram to remain junub but it is haram not to make ghusl before the time period for a prayer passes. For, it is fard to perform prayers.

However, it is permissible and legitimate to have a tooth filled when a person is junub or in menstruation. We advise having a tooth filled when a person is clean (after having ghusl). However, to have a tooth filled when a person is junub does not harm the filling. It does not prevent ghusls made after that either. The filling becomes part of the body; therefore, it is enough to wash the outer part of that filling for ghusl.

Therefore, it is permissible to have a tooth filled during menstruation and puerperum; it will not prevent the ghusls after that.

2. If a person wants to have a tooth filled when he/she is not junub, he/she does not have to make ghusl again since he/she already has ghusl.
