Did the Prophet (pbuh) recite the chapters of al-Falaq and an-Nas in the morning prayer (fajr)?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

In fact, one can read the chapter of al-Falaq in one rak’ah and an-Nas in the other rak’ah of the morning prayer or other prayers after reading the chapter of al-Fatiha.

The Prophet (pbuh) recited the chapters of al-Falaq and an-Nas in the fard of the morning prayer (fajr) and recommended it. (1)

According to what Uqba b. Amir reports, the Prophet (pbuh) taught him those two suras during a journey and led the morning prayer by reciting them. (2)

In addition, some of the surahs that are reported to have been recited after the chapter of al-Fatiha in the fard of the morning prayer by the Prophet (pbuh) are as follows:

At-Tur, Qaf, at-Takwir, ar-Rum, al-Muminun, az-Zilzal..

The chapters of as-Sajda and al-Insan (ad-Dahr) in the morning prayer on Fridays.
