Can you prove Islam?

The Details of the Question

- I am a bit confused about religion nowadays; I am going back and forth between satanism and atheism. Honestly, I find myself closer to satanism, but I have some doubts in my mind because I was born a Muslim and lived that way until a certain period of time.
- I am afraid of burning if Islam is really true, but part of me says it is not true. That is why I cannot really be a satanist or a Muslim.
- If you can prove Islam to me and if my doubts go away, I will become a Muslim again.

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

Let us start with this:

Just as it is impossible, meaningless and irrational to close our eyes and say, “There is no sun” so too is it impossible, meaningless and irrational to say, “There is no Creator” - God forbid - without any evidence.

Denying that Our Creator’s name is “Allah” in his own words;

That He created the universe and all that is in it in order to be known, to be praised and glorified and for many other reasons;

That we human beings, who have consciousness and will and whom He made vicegerent to all other creatures on earth, should recognize Him with our own will, do what He wants and avoid what He forbids;

And hence the existence of Paradise, which is an eternal reward and Hell, which is a place of eternal punishment, i.e. the existence of the hereafter

is as impossible, meaningless and irrational for unextinguished hearts and minds as denying the following:

First and foremost, the existence and unity of Allah in the universe and His indispensability;

The existence of 124,000 prophets and especially the prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh);

The existence of all the pages and books and especially the existence and miracle of the Holy Quran;

The unanimous declarations of millions of scholars, mujaddids, imams, pure people, saints, researchers and all friends of truth;

And the testimonies of billions of believers that lived and died unextinguished minds and hearts.

All the truths in our introductory paragraph, i.e.,
- the existence and unity of Allah in the universe and His indispensability,
- the existence and trueness of the prophets, heavenly books and especially the prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh) and the Quran,
- the existence of the hereafter, angels and qadar

and all realities of belief can definitely and clearly be found in detail by a person who watches them with a heart and mind free of prejudice on our websites https://windowsofislam.com/ and www.youtube.com/@Windowsofislam; we urge everybody to go there and watch.

As for the issue of going back and forth between Islam and any “ism”:

It is not possible; that is, there is a mistake here.

If Islam is thoroughly understood and comprehended as a whole, and if one tries hard to attain investigative belief and fulfills the obligations of servitude with diligence and sincerity as long as he is alive, Allah promises His servants throughout the Quran that, with Allah’s help, he will remain on the straight path.

In that case, there is no going back and forth for a true Muslim between Islam and Christianity, Islam and Judaism, or Islam and any other “ism”. It may be that the fault lies with us, that we have not fully understood Islam, that we have understood it incompletely or incorrectly, that we have not internalized it, that we have not applied it to our lives, and that we have thus fallen into some erroneous ways and ideas because we are unprotected against the horrible deceptions of our souls at the end times and the devil.

The following is stated in the Quran:

“The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will)!..” (Aal-i Imran, 3/19)

“Praise be Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the darkness and the light. Yet those who reject Faith hold (others) as equal, with their Guardian-Lord!” (al-Anam, 6/1)

The verses above can briefly be interpreted together with the whole Quran as follows:

“Islam is the only religion that Allah has revealed to mankind since Adam. Shari’ah has changed according to the ages, but the principles of belief have always remained the same.

When humanity reached the point of perfection, the Last Prophet, Muhammad (pbuh), and the Last Book, the Quran, came; Allah protected it from distortion and made its decrees valid for all humanity until the Day of Judgment.

Satan’s job is to mislead people who knowingly or unknowingly surrender their souls and minds to him, to distort the true religion and drag people into the eternal fire.

Therefore, the light is one and only one, and that is Islam. Anything else, no matter what its name is, is darkness, i.e., zulumat. Zulumat is not one but infinite; everything outside Islam is zulumat without exception.

If a person relies on his nafs (soul) and mind and say, “It is not like this; I think it is like that! My mind tells me to do it this way”, he exits Islam and regards his ego and mind as equal with his Lord -God forbid- becoming a polytheist and an unbeliever.”

As we try to understand this verse and its brief interpretation and the whole Quran, we should not forget this principle:

When a word is uttered;

First of all, we look at the speaker; that is, who is the one who says the word. Be careful, the speaker here is God Almighty!

Then we look at the addressee; that is us, the human beings!

Then we look at the purpose: It is a prescription for our eternal salvation!

Finally, we look at the position: Is the eloquence, rhetoric, oratory and fluency of the Quran not already evident for 1,400 years?

In that case?

What would we say if we were going down an unfamiliar path and at the beginning of the path, someone dressed like a madman said to us: “Brother, do not go this way; there are bandits ahead; they will rob you and kill you!”? Most likely, we would give up going down that road immediately.

Similarly, how can we, who change the road to follow for our worldly affairs, which are not worth a penny, based on the word of a madman, remain indifferent in the face of so many blessed people and unshakable evidence? Have we given up our minds?

Therefore,

We should read the Quran and its tafsirs and read and watch the works that increase our belief by feeling in our heart and conscience, by reasoning, remembering Allah, contemplation and meditation in order to obey Allah’s commands, especially prayer, and to avoid His prohibitions.

After all, guidance is from Allah. We must first believe in Him and then ask Him to grant us guidance.

Otherwise, if we ask with the mentality “Tell me and see if I will be convinced?”, Allah guarantees that we will not be convinced!

As a matter of fact, the following is stated in the Quran:

“Of them there are some who (pretend to) listen to thee; but We have thrown veils on their hearts, So they understand it not, and deafness in their ears; if they saw every one of the signs, not they will believe in them; in so much that when they come to thee, they (but) dispute with thee; the Unbelievers say: “These are nothing but tales of the ancients.” Others they keep away from it, and themselves they keep away; but they only destroy their own souls, and they perceive it not. If thou couldst but see when they are confronted with the Fire! They will say: “Would that we were but sent back! Then would we not reject the signs of our Lord, but would be amongst those who believe!” (al-Anam, 6/25-27)
