Is God just a mental or societal construct created by humans in order to make sense of absurdities, create order in societies, cope with hardship, and find meaning in life and the Hereafter? Is God a man-made construct created to cope with difficulties, implement rules in societies, explain a universe that appears absurd, and provide hope of an afterlife with reward and punishment? **Is the concept of God actually a human invention rather than a reality that exists independently of human minds?** First, answer this question through logic, philosophy, and rational reasoning without using religious scripture. However, stay within an Islamic-compatible framework and do not use arguments that contradict Islamic aqeedah. The explanation should be general enough that Muslims from different theological schools, such as Athari, Ash‘ari, and others, can accept it without conflicting with their beliefs.
