Is a valid to pray Jam'al Taqdim, combining Maghrib and Ishai after the imam and congregation already finish praying and it not raining anymore.

The Details of the Question

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, I have a question regarding prayer combining (jam‘) due to rain. On that day, the mosque was performing Maghrib and Isha prayers combined because of rain. However, by the time I arrived at the mosque, the congregation had already finished the prayer. At that moment, there was no rain falling. After that, some other people also arrived late, so I led a new congregation for them. We prayed Maghrib and Isha together in one sitting (jam‘ taqdim). My questions is: Is it valid for us to combine Maghrib and Isha in this situation, even though the original congregation had already finished, if not valid what should be done?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

If prayers have been combined due to a valid excuse, and the excuse later ceases to exist, the prayers are not repeated. The prayer that was performed in advance remains valid.

However, once the excuse has ended, prayers are no longer combined. Each prayer is performed within its prescribed time.
