Does treatment with acupuncture prevent ghusl? It is said that the ears are pierced, small metals are put into the holes and the holes are closed by some tapes in acupuncture treatment. It remains like that for ten to fifteen days.

Is the ghusl of a fat person who undergoes an acupuncture treatment valid when his ears are like that? If it is not, what should he do?

If these tapes stuck on the ear prevent water from touching the skin, ghusl is not permissible with these tapes.

If it is a necessity to undergo this treatment, it is permissible to wipe over these tapes while making ghusl. A religious doctor who is a specialist needs to decide whether such treatment is necessary or not. If it is decided that such a treatment is necessary, it means there is a necessity; then, ghusl is valid.

If wiping harms it, wiping can be ignored. Ghusl is valid like that. It is more appropriate to start this treatment after making ghusl.
