It is necessary for a Muslim to be healthy and wealthy enough to go to hajj, to be free and sane, and to have reached the age of puberty in order to be obliged to perform the duty of hajj worshipping. However, if he borrows money and goes to hajj, his hajj is valid and he is freed from the responsibility of performing hajj.
