Is wudu invalidated when the wife and husband touch each other according to Hanafi madhhab?
My wife and I are Hanafis. What are the limitations of touching each other after making wudu? In what states is wudu invalidated?
Dear Brother / Sister,
According to Hanafi madhhab, wudu is not invalidated when a man and a woman touch each other. However, wudu is invalidated if extreme contact takes place between them.
Extreme contact means the man and the woman touching each other with their private parts without any covering or with a very thin cloth between them. It does not matter whether mazi (wetness) comes from them as a result of contact; their wudu is invalidated.
According to Imam Muhammad, wudu is invalidated if mazi comes from them as a result of extreme contact. If no wetness occurs, wudu is not invalidated.
