The Answer
Dear Brother / Sister,
A musafir can follow an imam who is a resident only within the prescribed time period of a prayer. In that case, he performs a four-rak’ah fard prayer fully just like a resident.
If a musafir (traveler) who follows an imam who is a resident in a four-rak’ah prayer exits prayer by saluting after the second rak’ah though he has to perform four rak’ahs, his prayer becomes invalidated.
