What is the difference between the principle of belief in the hereafter and other principles of belief?

The Details of the Question

What is the difference between the principle of belief in the hereafter and other principles of belief?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

In Islam, the greatest principle of belief after belief in Allah is belief in the hereafter. For, all principles of belief look at the hereafter in a sense. That is, they are important with their aspect that look at life in the hereafter.

a. For instance, to believe in the Quran is very important in that it gives glad tidings about life in the hereafter, which people need the most after belief in Allah. What can be the importance of a book that does not give glad tidings about the hereafter for people?

b. For instance, the existence of angels is important – for man – since they record his deeds related to the hereafter and since they will guide us in that strange land when we enter the grave.

c. For instance, the most important aspect of belief in prophets is that they give glad tidings about eternal life, which will save man from eternal non-existence.

d. People naturally have two important sources of need. The first one is point of support: The only point of support for man, who is a weak, poor, needy and feeble being against thousands of enemies – from a microbe/virus to an earthquake – is belief in Allah, who sees everything and has power over everything. The second one: There is no other issue except belief in the hereafter, which is the place where the wrongs done to him will be eliminated, the good deeds he did will be evaluated, he will attain the eternal life that he is in love with and he will rejoin his relatives and friends that he lost, that keeps man’s mind busy and preoccupies his conscience.
