Is there a verse about "keeping one’s heart open for denial"?
Dear Brother / Sister,
The verse in question is as follows:
“Anyone who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief,- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty.” (an-Nahl, 16/106)
A person who abandons his belief after becoming a believer and a Muslim, who exits the religion of Islam is called a "murtad (apostate)". A person who abandons his religion and becomes an irreligious person or embraces another religion by "opening his breast to unbelief" and by using his freewill will be damned and punished by Allah.
In essence, belief is an adoption and approval by the heart; similarly denial means to deliberately reject Allah’s existence and oneness, and the other principles of belief, which are the minimum conditions of becoming a Muslim, partly or as a whole.
