nikah for muslim woman marrying a non practising christian man

The Details of the Question
I read the 'muslim woman marrying a non practising christian man' article (15/9/08) with much interest.
I am also a Muslim girl and am due to marry my non-practising Christian fiancé in a few weeks, however, no Imam is prepared to perform the Nikah ceremony unless my partner converts. My fiance will never deny me my religion and is learning about Islam at present. Can you suggest something as we would both like a Nikah ceremony? I understand a pious man can perform the ceremony?
Thank-you

The Answer
Dear Brother / Sister,
A muslim girl or woman cannot mary a non-muslim, unless he reverts to Islam. It is prohibited in Islam. If a non-Muslim man embraces Islam, then a Muslim woman is allowed to marry him.
