The Details of the Question

Since there is a good intention here, is it permissible to have magic done?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

No, it is not permissible to have magic done for something like that or anything else. Magic is haram in our religion. Magic and sorcery are prohibited in Islam.

It is stated in the Quran that magicians will not thrive (Taha, 20/69). Unbelievers accused messengers of Allah of magic and sorcery in order to justify themselves and to deny messengers. The names Hz. Isa (Jesus) (as-Saff, 61/6); Hz. Musa (Moses) (az-Zukhruf, 43/49); (ad-Dhariyat, 51/39), Hz. Sulayman (Solomon) (al-Baqara, 2/102) and Hz. Muhammad (al-Hijr, 15/6) are mentioned among the messengers who were accused of sorcery.

In another verse, it is seen that unbelievers accused all prophets of sorcery (ad-Dhariyat, 51/52). When the Prophet (pbuh) asked people “to avoid seven things”, he mentioned “sorcery” in the second place (Bukhari, Wasaya 23; Muslim, Iman,144).

In another hadith, it is stated that a person who commits sorcery becomes an unbeliever. The Prophet also states that to cast a spell, to read something on a thread and blow on it, and to commit sorcery is shirk (polytheism) (Nasai, Tahrim 19).

It is also stated that a person who believes in sorcery cannot enter Paradise (Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, II/83; IV/399). In another hadith, it is stated that a person who believes in a sorcerer, soothsayer and fortuneteller is regarded to have denied the Quran. (Abu Dawud, Tibb, 21).
