Why does our earning and sustenance not have barakah (abundance)?

The Details of the Question

We do not have barakah (abundance) in our sustenance. Why are we deprived of barakah? We always lose money due to something and spend money.

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

One of the most effective reasons for lack of barakah is lack of contentment, having greed and ambition. To waste and to be greedy with lack of contentment is ingratitude. When people do not thank Allah for the boons, barakah disappears.

To sleep at the time of karahah in the morning causes barakah to escape.

"Ghaylula sleep" means to sleep in the time period between dawn and the full sunrise. It is contrary to the Sunnah to sleep in that period. For, to start work early in the morning in many businesses enables the sustenance to increase and to be abundant.

The most active time period when man can be motivated to work is the time period after dawn. This period should not be spent by sleeping. For, to sleep at that time means to start work late, which means loss of work, loss of labor, loss of time, loss of money and loss of performance, inactivating many elements that make sustenance abundant. This is the reason for lack of barakah.
