The Answer
Dear Brother / Sister,
Swedish elixir is produced by adding vinegar or alcohol. It is permissible to use the products produced by vinegar but it is not permissible to use a product if alcohol is added to it.
If there is no other medication for your illness and if a religious specialist says this medication will be useful, it becomes permissible to use a medication containing alcohol.
