The Answer
Dear Brother / Sister,
If there is no medical drawback to fasting by a diabetic patient who has to have insulin shots at certain times, fasting is not invalidated if he has an insulin shot while he is fasting. For, a diabetic patient cannot live without it.
Injection is not forbidden in fasting if there is a vital risk. If there is no serious drawback like the deterioration of the illness, injection can be performed after iftar (breaking fast).
