A holy book that was carried away: The Gospel (Bible) of Barnabas

In the black days that the world of Christianity was overshadowed with the clouds of bigotry, the clergy that was regarded as a power over everything looked as if they were competing in order to distort the holy book of Bible.

In the black days that the world of Christianity was overshadowed with the clouds of bigotry, the clergy that was regarded as a power over everything looked as if they were competing in order to distort the holy book of Bible.

Everybody was writing a separate Bible and each Bible was different based on the personal ideas. Every day, new Bibles were added to the existing hundreds of Bibles; the number of the Bibles increased day by day. The number of the Bibles, which were named based on the people who wrote them, increased so much that it became obligatory to take measures. As a result of the long meeting of the Council of Nicaea, 396 of the Bibles were forbidden to be read.

Especially one of those Bibles was emphasized and it was declared that those who read it would be punished severely..

That Bible, which was also prohibited by Gelasius I, who became the Pope in 492 A.D., belonged to Barnabas, one of the oldest students of the disciples; it was prohibited because it included something that was not present in other Bibles.

All of the Bibles that were prohibited were collected speedily. Some of them were destroyed by people who were afraid of the severe punishment.

However, a religious priest managed to carry away one of the Barnabas Bibles by risking everything. Later, that Bible was delivered to the Empire Library in Vienna and translated into English.

However, the church found the trace of the Bible of Barnabas. All of the copies of that Bible were collected within a week in order to be eradicated. However, all of the efforts of the Church were in vain because two of the Barnabas Bibles were carried away while they were being eradicated. One of them was taken to the British Museum, and the other to the Congress Library of the USA.

The Bibles were concealed very carefully like a military secret in the places where they were sent; they were kept out of the reach of the public.

The secret was revealed by a Muslim General. Abdurrahim, a Pakistani General who worked as a military attaché in the United States of America, microfilmed that Bible and took the microfilms to Pakistan secretly.

Later, the microfilms were transformed into a book by the Begum Aisha Bawany Foundation in Pakistan and were presented to the Islamic world.

When the microfilms were processed, the reason why the Bible of Barnabas underwent such and adventure. The Bible of Barnabas stated that our Prophet would come and that the universe was created for the sake of him by mentioning the name of our Prophet.

It is very remarkable that the Western world tried hard to eliminate that Bible with great obstinacy and effort.

Although the Bible of Barnabas was also distorted, it still contains some of the divine truths.

On page 44 of the book, Jesus (pbuh) describes the prophet to come after him to his disciples as follows:

“I therefore say to you that the Messenger of God is a splendor that shall give gladness to nearly all that God has made, for he is adorned with the spirit of understanding and of counsel, the spirit of wisdom and might, the spirit of fear and love, the spirit of prudence and temperance, he is adorned with the spirit of charity and mercy, the spirit of justice and Piety, the spirit of gentleness and patience, which he has received from God three times more than he has given to all his creatures. O blessed time, when he shall come to the world! Believe me that I have seen him and have done. him reverence, even as every prophet has seen him: seeing that of his spirit God gives to them prophecy. And when I saw him my soul was filled with consolation, saying: "O Muhammad;, God be with you, and may he make me worthy to untie, your shoe latchet;, for obtaining this I shall be a great prophet and holy one of God." And having said this, Jesus rendered his thanks to God..”

Jesus, who approved the prophethood of our prophet before he was born by addressing him as “O Muhammad”, and the Bible of Barnabas are undeniable evidence that he is the last prophet.
