The Quran has challenged the deniers since the first days of its revelation with the verses above and similar ones; it has asked those who doubted that this book was the word of Allah to produce similar verses. If the polytheists who lived in a period when literature was in demand and among whom were many orators and rhetoricians could have answered this challenge, they would have won their struggle against Muslims through words and they would not have to fight Muslims. After fourteen centuries that passed, the Quran is still living in the tongues and hearts of billions of Muslims on the one hand and is still challenging the deniers in the same way on the other hand.
“If He -God- had not wanted to give, He would not have given wanting.” (The Letters)
Love this world and the creatures in it as pointing to a meaning beyond themselves, like a word. Do not love them just for themselves. Say, “How beautifully they have been made.” Do not say, “How beautiful they are.” (The Words)
Farewell, o month of Ramadan! Indeed, it is as if the world of Islam becomes a mosque during the month of Ramadan. In every corner of that mighty mosque millions of those who know the whole Quran by heart cause the dwellers on the earth to hear the heavenly address. (Letters)
