Is there a hadith of the Prophet saying, “Kill the Jews”?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

Umar Ibn Hamza (ra) narrates: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,

“You will definitely fight the Jews. The war will be so intense that the stone will say, ‘O Muslim! The one behind me is a Jew. Come and kill him.’(Muslim, Fitan, 80)

Abdullah ibn Umar narrates: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,

“The Jews will fight against you and you will gain victory over them. The war will be so intense that the stone will say, ‘O Muslim! The one behind me is a Jew. Kill him.’” (Muslim, Fitan, 81)

Abu Hurayra (ra) narrates: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,

“Doomsday will not strike unless the Muslims fight against the Jews. The Muslims will kill (defeat) the Jews. The Jews will hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and the stone or the tree will say, ‘O Muslim, or the servant of Allah! There is a Jew behind me; come and kill him’; except for the gharqad tree because it is the tree of the Jews.” (Muslim, Fitan, 82)

The Prophet (pbuh) of the end times states the following:

“Doomsday will not strike unless the Muslims fight against the Jews. There will be a war and the Muslims will defeat and kill them. The Jews will hide themselves behind stones or trees and the stones and the trees will say, ‘O Muslim, or the servant of Allah! There is a Jew behind me; come and kill him’; except for the arqad tree because it is the tree of the Jews.” (An-Nihaya, Vol.1, pp. 87, 103, 104, 117; Ibn Majah, Vol. 2, p. 1363; Muslim, Vol. 4, p. 2239)

The arqad tree mentioned in the hadith is referred to as “Lycium europaeum” or “Jewish tree” in the dictionaries. In various parts of Anatolia, it is known under various names such as furze, blackthorn and thorn of Jesus. The Latin name of this tree, which is two to three meters tall, is “PALIURUS SPINA CHRISTI”.

This tree, which has dangerous thorns, is still widely planted by Jews in the Palestine region...

“They will not fight you (even) together, except in fortified townships, or from behind walls. Strong is their fighting (spirit) amongst themselves: thou wouldst think they were united, but their hearts are divided: that is because they are a people devoid of wisdom.” (al-Hashr, 59/14)

Years ago, when journalists reminded the then Prime Minister of the State of Israel, Shimon Perez, that “the Holy Quran foretells the destruction of your state”, Perez replied as follows: “If the Muslims mentioned in the Quran emerged, we would think about it.” (Tercüman Newspaper, Ergun Göze, 1986)

It is clearly stated in the hadiths that the Muslims will fight the Jews. It is also possible to understand from the text of the hadiths that Muslims will not be the aggressors in this war. Muslims will be right in their cause. Therefore, Muslims will be supported by the world public opinion, whether Muslim or non-Muslim. The speaking of the stone and the tree in the hadith is a simile to the common conscience of humanity,

That is, the world public opinion will not approve of the Jews. However, there will be a nation that will approve of the Jews in their aggression, support them, protect and defend them and fight on their behalf. This nation has been described as and likened to by our Prophet (pbuh), who saw the future very clearly, the “gharqad tree”.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) miraculously foretold that the cities of Basra and Baghdad, which had not yet been established at that time, would be established and Muslim people would live in them. As a matter of fact, Badiuzzaman Said Nursi also mentioned this hadith.

As it is known, Baghdad was also destroyed by Hulagu in 656 H. Thus, the interpretation of Banu Qantura turned out to be true. However, today, the destruction of Baghdad and Basra by America and Britain, which are in close contact with the Jews, once again brought the oppression of Banu Qantura to the agenda, this time with the simile of the “gharqad tree” supporting the Jews.

It is well known how much the Jewish mischief has turned the Middle East into a hell of fire today. It is understood from the hadiths that this war will continue as a bitter misfortune of the end times until the Jews are defeated. May Allah turn it to good things! Amin...
