Is the repentance of a person who exited the religion of Islam several times accepted?

The Answer

Dear Brother / Sister,

"Those who believe, then reject faith, then believe (again) and (again) reject faith, and go on increasing in unbelief,- Allah will not forgive them nor guide them nor guide them on the way." (an-Nisa, 4/137)

Those who believed, then denied, then believed, then became unbelievers again and indulged in unbelief completely; those people who return from belief to unbelief and from unbelief to belief and finally settle in unbelief by increasing belief cannot possibly be forgiven and guided by Allah. It does not mean that He will not accept their belief if they believe. However, they will not believe unless they are about to die since their hearts are sealed; they will probably not believe even at that time. When they do not believe, they will never be forgiven as the verse starting with "La yaghfiru an yushraka... Allah forgiveth not (the sin of) joining other gods with Him…)" indicates. Even if they believed sincerely at a time when repentances are accepted, they would be forgiven as it is stated in the verse "Illalladhina tabu wa akhlasu... Except those who repent and make amends…" and their repentance could be accepted and forgiven but they will not repent.
