The Answer
Dear Brother / Sister,
It is permissible to sleep naked under a cover. Sleeping naked without a cover, however, is not permissible because the angels, who are always with the person, feel ashamed because of it.
The Prophet (pbuh) states the following regarding the issue:
“Beware of being naked because there are angels who do not leave you; they leave you only when you answer the call of nature and when you have sexual intercourse with your wife; so, feel ashamed and show respect to them.” (Tirmidhi, Adab, 42)
That is, they feel ashamed because of your nakedness.
